Most seed maps show you biomes and structures, then leave you to strip-mine blind. ezseed's Ore Finder goes further: paste your Java seed, open the Tools panel, and it computes likely ore pockets from the same generation math the game uses — then hands you the nearest candidates with exact x/y/z coordinates. How to use it

  1. Open ezseed.net in your browser and load your world — pick Java Edition and your exact version, then enter your seed.
  2. Click the magnifier button on the right side of the map to open the finder panel.
  3. Select "Find Ore — candidates" in the Tools panel and choose an ore, like diamond.
  4. Run the search to list the nearest candidates, each with exact x/y/z coordinates.
  5. In game, dig toward a candidate or /tp straight to it, then branch out if a cave cut the pocket.

Good to know

The Ore Finder models vanilla ore feature placement — the actual formulas Minecraft Java uses to decide where pockets generate for your seed. That's why results are labeled candidates: they're high-probability dig targets, not X-ray certainty, because caves and rivers can carve a pocket away. In practice, that means you dig with the odds heavily in your favor instead of strip-mining on faith.

Every candidate comes with a precise Y level, which matters more than most players think — diamonds, for example, are densest around Y -59, and the finder reflects that in its picks. All seven ores are covered: diamond, iron, gold, coal, copper, lapis, and redstone.

Unlike other seed maps, ezseed computes these targets entirely from the seed's own generation math, right in your browser. The Ore Finder supports Java Edition only; Bedrock places ore differently and isn't supported. And since nothing touches your game — no mods, no texture packs — it's allowed on any server.

FAQ

Is this the same as X-ray?

No. X-ray shows you ore that already exists by cheating the client, which most servers ban. The Ore Finder only reads your seed and predicts where vanilla worldgen places pockets. You still mine legitimately in game, so it's allowed anywhere — including servers with strict anti-cheat.

Why did I dig to a candidate and find nothing?

Candidates come from the real placement formulas, but a cave or river running through that spot can shrink a pocket or wipe it out entirely. If one dig comes up empty, check the surrounding blocks, then head for the next candidate on the list — the finder returns several nearby, so a miss costs little.

What's the best Y level for diamonds?

Diamonds get more common the deeper you go, peaking around Y -59 — just above the bedrock layer. The Ore Finder bakes this in: every diamond candidate comes with its own precise Y, so instead of mining a whole layer at -59, you dig to one exact x/y/z where a pocket is predicted.

Does it work on Bedrock Edition?

No. Bedrock places ore differently, and the finder doesn't model those rules, so it's Java Edition only. You can still load Bedrock seeds on the ezseed map for biomes and structures — the ore candidates are just a Java-side feature.
