Ruined Portal at Spawn in a Dark Forest

You spawn at y=73 in a dark forest, and a ruined portal sits about 61 blocks away at (0, 64), so you can start on nether gear almost at once. Taiga is about 45 blocks off, a river about 72, and a nether fortress is only about 172 blocks from your portal on the nether side.

Structures nearest to spawn

Nearest instance of each type inside a 5,000-block box centred on spawn. Coordinates are the structure's origin; ancient cities and mineshafts sit far below the surface.

Biome mix around spawn

Surface biome sampled on a grid across a 2,048×2,048 block box centred on spawn. Biomes under 1% share are omitted, except the biome you spawn in.
