Minecraft Village Finder
Paste your seed into the map and every village shows up as a marker — free, in your browser, no download or account. Click a marker and the popup names the variant: plains, desert, savanna, taiga, or snowy, decided by the biome the village generates in. That matters when you're hunting a specific trade setup or just want the closest bed and food source from spawn. The map covers Java 1.20 through 26.2 and Bedrock up to 26.30, and Bedrock variants are calculated with Bedrock's own rules, not copied from Java. Since the seed, position, and zoom all live in the URL, you can send a friend a link that opens on the exact village you found.
How to use it
- Open ezseed.net, pick your edition and version (Java or Bedrock), and enter your world seed.
- Turn on the Village marker in the LAYERS rail on the left — every village near your view appears on the map.
- Click a marker to see the variant — plains, desert, savanna, taiga, or snowy — plus its coordinates.
- Already in a world? Use the find-nearest tool to get the closest village to your current coordinates.
- Want a village at spawn? Open the FINDER panel and search thousands of seeds for "village within N blocks of spawn."
Good to know
Villages aren't random scatter — the game places roughly one village attempt per 34×34-chunk region, so they're spread on a loose grid across the world. Whether an attempt succeeds, and which variant you get, depends on the biome: plains, desert, savanna, taiga, and snowy villages each need their matching biome. That's why some seeds have a dry stretch with no villages for a thousand blocks — those grid attempts landed in oceans or forests. The two editions don't place villages in the same spots either, so set Java or Bedrock before you start scanning. Once you've picked a target, use Goto coords to jump the map there, the distance tool to measure the walk from spawn, and the 3D viewer to fly over the terrain and check how the village actually sits — on a hill, split by a river, or half-buried. Every view is a URL, so bookmarking a village is just copying the link.
FAQ
How do I find the nearest village in an existing world?
Press F3 (Java) or enable coordinates (Bedrock) to get your position, enter your seed on the map, then use the find-nearest-structure tool with village selected. It returns the closest village to your coordinates, and you can check the exact distance with the measure tool before you set off.
How rare are villages?
Not very. Recent versions attempt roughly one village per 34×34-chunk region — about every 550 blocks on average — but the attempt only succeeds in a village biome (plains, desert, savanna, taiga, or snowy). Large oceans or forests can push the nearest one out to a thousand-plus blocks.
Can I find a seed that spawns me next to a village?
Yes — open the FINDER panel on the right and set a criterion like "village within 200 blocks of spawn." It scans thousands of seeds in your browser and lists the matches; click one to load it on the map and check the variant before you commit.
Do village locations differ between Java and Bedrock?
Yes. The same seed number produces different village positions on Java and Bedrock, and the variant rules differ too. Set your edition and version before searching — the map supports Java 1.20 through 26.2 and Bedrock up to 26.30, with variants calculated per edition.
